Small But Mighty: Creating Pretty Backgrounds with Petite Stamps

Hi, it’s Ruby here today with a floral card made with a simple stamp from a tea time stamp set from Altenew. Sometimes I will have a rummage through my stamps to see what little stamps I can find. Stamp companies often add some sweet little extras and they can be great for card backgrounds.

Here’s the card info. The card base is 5” x 7”

  1. Cut a rectangular panel in teal cardstock and attach it to the card base.

  2. Die cut a stitched rectangular panel in watercolour cardstock.

  3. Stamp and watercolour the flowers randomly across the top of the stitched panel. I used the flowers from Altenew’s Tea Time Stamp Set.

  4. Using a graphite pencil, add some shading around the floral clusters.

  5. Die-cut the sentiment, ‘Here for You’ in teal cardstock. I used Altenew’s Essential Sentiment Strips Die Set.

  6. Attach the die-cut sentiment to a piece of white cardstock and fussy cut around the edge to create the label.

  7. Hand-cut an additional two pieces of cardstock to attach behind the sentiment, creating a 3D label.

  8. Tie some baker’s twine around the bottom of the panel.

  9. Attach the stamped panel to the teal cardstock background.

  10. Add some little crystals in between the flowers to finish.

What little dies do you have in your stamp sets? It’s always worth having a look. It’s like shopping in your studio!

Have a great week!
