A Nordic Christmas

A Nordic Christmas

Like my fellow teamie Bev, I also have a soft spot for Nordic Patterns so I've been playing with the same Avery Elle stamp set and made two cards which are very different from each other...

As soon as I saw those patterns I thought of Christmas knitwear so I had to create my own fun sweater! I used my stamping tool to line up four of the patterns and stamp them all at once onto red card with Versamark ink so I could heat emboss them in white. Then, using the larger MFT Sweater die, I cut the jumper and some extra ribbed trimmings in the same red card.

I wrapped a length of twine around a piece of textured card and made it look like the jumper was suspended from it using a very old die in my stash to cut the coat hanger. I added a sentiment and a few tone on tone die cut snowflakes and called it done. I did in fact make a few different colour ways which is easy to do once you have your stamps all mounted in a stamping tool.

In complete contrast, my second card goes into the realms of contemporary with pretty pastel tones which I had fun stamping into a repeat pattern...

After all that stamping I used the MFT Fa La La die to cut out the wording into the panel and placed a muted blue card under neath to show through the lettering (it looks more grey in the photo thanks to failing light!)

Just to finish off, I added  a sprig of pastel coloured holly to compliment the colours.... this palette is quite a change for me but I quite like it.

I hope I've given you some extra ideas on using these pattern builder stamps.... think of all the crazy colourful Christmas jumpers you can make !!

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
