Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Happy Hump Day!

It's Bev here today, stepping in for Deborah this week as she is poorly - Get Well Soon!

With the recent MFT Release I was inspired to ink up & dust off the Merry Christmas Blend clear stamps and coordinating Merry Christmas Blend Die from last years Christmas release.

I decided to make a 'traditional' inspired card and a 'modern' card, simply by changing up the colours and accent embellishments.

First up is my traditional inspired card. I used Altenew inks Ruby Red/Coral Berry for the Merry and Moss/Olive for the Christmas. When you first look at the stamp it can appear a little daunting, but it is really easy to line up and use. Even more so if you have a stamping platform!

For this card I decided to use the negative die cutting technique. Again, this can look time consuming and tricky, but it's pretty straight forward! I started by cutting two white panels the same size.

I then die cut the 'Merry Christmas' from one panel. I then temporarily adhered the panels together to stamp the sentiment in place. Once I had done my stamping I could take the panels apart and replace the temporary adhesive with foam adhesive. The holly die cut embellishment is from Concord & 9th Iconic Christmas Dies.

For my second card I chose a modern Christmas colour scheme and one I think pairs lovely with snowflakes! I used Altenew Aqualicious/Dew Drop and Pinkalicious/Pink Diamond.

I always do my stamping first and then die cut. My trick to perfect die cutting after stamping is to create a negative die cut mask. As you know I love snowflakes and this one from Concord & 9th Iconic Christmas Dies is stunning. I added a few Nuvo Drops for extra interest.

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share!
