Budding Christmas Stems

Budding Christmas Stems

I've used the beautiful greenery on the Budding Beauties Winter stamp set today to make a clean and simple Christmas card.... my favourite kind to make :)

The layering in this set is great and quite easy to do with the aid of the coloured guide included in the packaging. I started out by masking a wide strip on a piece of card and then blended pumice stone and hickory smoke distress inks lightly across it. With the area still masked, I then stamped the All Lined up background with grey ink onto the area for a subtle pattern.

To add the foliage and berries I left the masking strips in place and used my stamping platform to stamp them at jaunty angles, leaving a space for a sentiment. I used a grey and dark green ink to add a sentiment from Hand Lettered holiday, less imposing than black ink. I've cut the panel out and adhered it to a card blank that I had embossed straight lines onto, I like the perpendicular angle and tone on tone pattern.

Thanks for stopping by and catch you next week :)
