Krafty Noel

Krafty Noel

I do like a batch process when making Christmas cards, especially when it gets closer to the time to send them.  So today I thought I'd break out my Nordic Noel Die from Concord and 9th and see if I could get 3 quick looks from just that one product and using kraft as my base as I do like kraft cards for Christmas.

First off, I wanted to inlay glitter paper - glitter and kraft is a strong combo and using white for the matt really makes it all pop.   Inlaying is made super easy as the flowers, leaves and large circles come as separate dies so you can run them through your die cut machine separately in the individual colours for quick cuts.  I used little scraps to also cut out the smaller dots in white glitter.  Once inlayed I just added some coloured pencil lines to frame it.

For the second card I cut the matt from patterned paper and then picked a single coloured cardstock to pair with it and left all the "pieces" in the die cut for a solid look.   Again with some pencil border lines to frame it.

For the final card, I went super simple - I used my embossing matt to emboss the die onto the front of the card rather than cutting it. and layered up the elements for a tone on tone embossed look.  Debossing and embossing on the same card add depth without getting thick.  I used two pencils to emphasise the stitches and also used the same two colours to make the border.

Hope that gave you some ideas how to get more from the one die.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We will be getting the MFT release but it won't be here on Tuesday as usual - it's actually one of those birthdays ending in a "0" for me on Tuesday, so we're taking the day off to do something fun.   We have a little something planned to help you celebrate with me though so if you're not already signed up to our newsletter (add your email to the front page of the store) then make sure you do that by tomorrow!

We're also expecting a delivery from Altenew but don't have a date confirmed as yet.

That's all for today.

Catch you later

Tara
