Santa Tagging

Santa Tagging

I could not resist the moustache on this guy so it was top of my list of things to play with on the new Avery Elle release.  Whilst all my gifts will have him as tags this year, I also thought there were ways to play with him to make cards too.

First up is the die - there is a matching stamp perfect for adding sentiments to the tag.  I just cut two layers - one red base layer and one white for the beard, added the stash and stamped the details on his face and stamped a sentiment below before adding a string - my first tag ready for December!

Next I wanted to see if I could make him a standalone element for a Christmas card - my first idea was to cut an oval of red and then cut a round face - so that's what I did - he looks a little like a weeble (if you're old enough to remember those from the 70s!) I quite liked him and will add him to a mini card for kids but he wasn't quite bold enough for a full size card.

So for version 3 - I went with a 4.5cm strip of card (the width of the tag) and just stuck the tag layer in the middle.  I added a pom pom at the top to suggest his hat and then used the die cut sentiment with a gold sequin to suggest his belt.   I like his abstract cubist look and he was lots of fun to make so I'll think I'll make a batch whilst I have the supplies out.

Happy Crafting!
