Oh Penguin Tree

Oh Penguin Tree

Hello, crafters, Tallie here! Not too many sleeps to go and I'm sharing my last card with you for this year. The tree critter tree series by Mama Elephant is one of my favourites, so it's only fitting that I end with this card featuring the Oh Penguin Tree set. Paired with a distress ink background and a sentiment from a set like Scripty Xmas, it makes a perfect Christmas card!

I started out by inking up a background with some Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink. I added a few water droplets, let it dry and then splattered on a liberal amount of white acrylic paint. I used both paint brush and toothbrush to get layers of splatter.

I then stamped out the glorious tree of penguins in some Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink onto some blending cardstock. My Copic markers are my go-to, so I chose some dark teals and bright festive colours.

I fussy cut around the penguins, leaving a ground of white at the bottom. To finish off the card, I stamped out the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment from the Mama Elephant Scripty Xmas set and adhered the panel to the background.

A few finishing touches with some Glossy Accents and a white gel pen finish it off nicely!

I hope you all have a good Christmas break, however and whomever you celebrate with (physically or virtually!). All the best and I'll see you in the new year with some more SHC inspiration!
