Butterfly Blessings

Butterfly Blessings

Hey there, Terri here! Today's card is a simple yet elegant Butterfly card. It's perfect for batch making but can also be pulled together quikly when you're pushed for time.

I started by cutting all of the elements for the large butterfly using the Swallowtail Butterfly Die Set. I chose to cut the base layer from vellum and then the next two layers from lilac and purple and the final layer from black cardstock. I adhered them together using a high tack glue.

I then set about embossing the background with the Intricate Tile 3D Embossing Folder. I cut a piece of white card to measure 4" by 5.25" and spritzed it with water on both sides before embossing. This helps to prevent cracking! Once dry I added a few black inky splatters.

The sentiment was stamped using the One Go Birthday Stamp Set, this stamp set stamps 12 sentiments in one go (hence the name). I then cut then sentiments using the One Go Birthday Die, this cuts everything out in one pass, perfectly.

I adhered the embossed panel to a Black A2 cardbase using foam tape. I then added the butterfly. I felt the sentiment needed to be added to a purple strip before adding it to the card, the white on white was just too bland for my liking.

I hope you like today's card, thank you for stopping by.
