A Right Hoot!

A Right Hoot!

This week I've been paper piecing which is a great way to use up some of those patterned paper scraps we all have .... it helps if you like to fussy cut, which I do, but these owls are quite nice easy shapes to trim around and they are in the sale section too ;)

Those eyes just hold your gaze don't they!!

These little guys are from a MFT set that has a choice of six owls... I thought this trio looked good together! I stamped them onto the card base and then onto a collection of patterned paper scraps in browns and greys so I could cut the various shapes and parts to layer. To lift the flat colours and patterns I blended ink around some of the edges for a bit of depth and interest..

I have used the Stitched Bouncy Trail dies to make a cloud line above the owls and then blended blue ink softly above for a subtle sky. They also have a branch to sit on and I found a leaf stamp in a Mama Elephant set which would work well for paper piecing too.

I love that sentiment... it fits perfectly into that gap in the clouds and I think we all know that 'someone' we could send a card like this to as well!

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
