Pretty Petals

Pretty Petals

Hello & Happy Friday.

It’s probably no surprise that I ordered from the new Concord & 9th release! With so many lovely summery products in it.

One that caught my attention was the Dots & Blossoms Stencil Pack. I have grown to love stencils a lot over the past few years and simple patterns always appeal to me.

I decided to use the blossom stencil and had an idea to create a shadow effect. I achieved this by stencilling with a light blue ink (Harbour) and then moving the stencil slightly to ink with a darker blue (Blueberry).

I’ve added yellow liquid drops to create a centre to the towers before assembling my card and using a sentiment from Citrus Crush Stamps and die cutting with the coordinating Citrus Crush Dies.

Next, I went to Jennifer McGuires website to look for a fun technique. I often look here if I am lacking creative mojo, though sometimes it can be overwhelming when I look as there are so many fun techniques!

However, this time I saw a fun idea, creating a stencil mask to be then able to individually ink each shape of the stencil in a rainbow effect. You can check the video out HERE.

But if you’ve not got time to watch, simply grab a piece of printer paper and trim into 10x10 cm squares approx. Then stencil a little bit in the centre of each. Cut up from the edge and around one flower. Secure cut with tape on the reverse and then you have a window mask to ink through.

I couldn’t decide which colours to use from C9, so I simply went through the whole collection, minus the neutral colours! This time I added the Thanks sentiment from Citrus Crush Stamps and die cutting with the coordinating Citrus Crush Dies.

That’s all from me today.
