Birthday Coffee

Birthday Coffee

It seems that I have two distinct favourite themes to my cards..... plants and coffee and today its the turn of coffee :) I've paired up MFT's Crafty Hands and Creature Comforts die sets to make this clean & simple card...

The pieces are cut in white card and then I've blended Distress Oxide Ink onto them... Faded Jeans for the saucer and Stormy Sky for the cup, I've used a stamp from Texture 7 to add a pattern to the saucer but you can use any small stamp in your stash for a similar a decorative effect. For the hand I've used a mixture of Distress Oxide in Tea Dye, Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar then used coloured pencils to add some extra shading and detail, the sleeve is from MFT's In Good Hands die set. I thought I'd use a circle die to cut into a piece of patterned paper so the cup could sit into the semi-circle. The sentiment is cut from MFT's Happy Birthday Circle frame which is currently out of stock (please use notification system if you'd like to purchase it).....

The sentiment fits just perfectly around the aperture and the cups nestles neatly into it too, all it needed was a couple of white card strips to continue the border down the edge of the patterned paper to finish. I used a colour wheel to help me decide on my colour palatte.... quite a useful tool when you've got so much choice in inks and patterned papers!!

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
