Many Happy 'Star' Turns

Many Happy 'Star' Turns

When it comes to making cards for the guys I find generic themes are the best unless they have a specific hobby or interest you can cater for. I've gone with a clean and simple style today that uses the Concord & 9th Star turnabout stamp and die sets to make a colourful star confetti background for the sentiment....

I started with a 6x6" piece if cardstock and used the turnabout stamp to make the background using a beige, blue, red and grey/blue inks. I then used the Star Turnabout die twice to cut stars and dots into the background pattern. I trimmed the panel down by a quarter of an inch all round and then used the Fine Finish edge die to give it a 'pinked' edge. The sentiment is a die set from MFT which is currently out of stock but you could easily add your own choice of wording or use the out of stock notification system on the website if you'd like to order it. I used blue glitter card for the lettering which are adhered to the panel and then wrapped a length of red metallic thread around the piece and topped the knot with a glitter star.

I added a square of glitter paper to the card base and then glued the panel over it so the sparkle shows through the stars and dots. I love the simplicity and scattered star effect.... a good card for the stash, ready whenever you need it :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
