Picnic In The Sky

Picnic In The Sky

Hey there crafty friends, Terri here!  Today I am sharing a Unicorn Picnic card with a twist...

As crafters we have so many supplies at our finger tips and it can often be overwhelming, so today's post is all about using a limited colour palette. I'm choosing to use Analogous colours!

Analogous colors are adjacent to or near each other on the color wheel. Together, they look aesthetically pleasing and produce a calming effect, as opposed to the intensity of complementary colors.

I started off by cutting a slimline stitched rectangle and used the Slimline Cloudy Stencil  from Lawn Fawn to ink blend some clouds. I used Distress Oxide inks in the following shades; Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose

I then stamped, coloured and die cut all of the images from Unicorn Picnic. I kept the colour palette the same, trying as best as possible to used alcohol markers that matched the ink blending.

I cut some silver glitter stars using the Unicorn Picnic Die Set. I then added all of the images using a combination of foam pads and wet glue.

The sentiment is made up of two parts, the words "have a Magical" were stamped direct in black ink. The die cut "brthday" was stamped and die cut using the Big Scripty Words Dies and coordinating die set. I then added the die cut panel onto a slimline card base.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post and will consider using Analgouos colour combinations on your future projects.
