Is it on the trolley?

Is it on the trolley?

Do you remember the Victoria Wood sketch in the restaurant where she has the sweet trolley but the two guys only want coffee - "is it on the trolley?"   "can you point to it"  Always made me giggle and when the new kit from MFT arrived I thought it would be fun to do an homage to the sketch using the Cocktail Hour trolley and pairing it with an appropriate sentiment from the Let's Celebrate sentiment set.

I started with the trolley and die cut it from teal card, coloured the spokes with a silver marker and layered the wheels over in black.  Next I turned to the Sips and Sweets die to create the cakes and cocktails to stack the trolley with.  This is an amazingly detailed die, right down to the tiny flame for the candles on the cake and the straws for the glasses and it's really fun to build up the cake elements, the jug of cocktail complete with tiny tap dispenser and even stacking a few vellum glasses and golden plates and cake server below ready to wheel into the party.  You definately need a good pair of tweezers to help you build the elements up though as they're too small for fingers I found!  The dies are helpfully clustered together so its easy to see which elements go together to build up the cake or the dispenser etc.

Once I had all my elements I simply assembled them onto a die cut panel and then stamped the greeting which perfectly matches the items on the trolley and popped the panel on a base card.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

This week sees the big seasonal releases from both Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle on Thursday 25th August.  We hope to have both here ready for release day.

Royal Mail strikes begin on Friday 26th August and then it's a bank holiday so no post will be sent again until Tuesday 30th and then there is another strike due on the 31st August with two more days of action planned the following week.   We are very worried about the impact this will have on lost orders with anything we post on Thursday 25th likely to be stuck in the system for over a week if not longer.   We are talking to Royal Mail to try to find out just how bad they expact the impact to be and will make a decision about shipping during this period by Wednesday 24th, with the possibility of upgrading orders (at an increased postage cost to customers) to shipping via DPD parcel post.

That's all for now - watch out for a newsletter on Wednesday - sign up here if you've not done so already
