Sunshine Daisy

Sunshine Daisy

I do love to find other ways to use the dies in my stash so whilst looking through them I thought how much like petals these sunshine dies looked like so I had a go at layering them up..

I cut too of the thick rays and two of the thin then gave them some shaping using a large embossing tool or curling them over a paintbrush handle. The circle die in the set is a little large so I used a punch to cut a suitable flower centre which I shaped with an embossing tool again. I added colour using distress inks, starting with pale yellow and building the hue up around the edge of the shape. The leaves are from Waffleflower Greenery set cut in dark green card with highlights added with white pencil and Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the card base with the All Lined Up background with a blue ink for a subtle tone on tone pattern. To help frame the flower I used the twine dies from Waffleflower to make the thin border... another different way to use a versatile die. I added a sentiment in grey ink as I thought black would be too stark. It's a bit different for me but I do love the clean and simple design and the pop of white and yellow. Shaping the diecuts helps make them more petal like although it maky be best to protect the card if it's going in the post.

Thanks for stopping by, catch you again in two weeks time :)
