Birthday Spotlight

Birthday Spotlight

Good morning! It's Deborah here with you today. Hope you're all keeping well and enjoying the tropical weather. I have to admit, that while I enjoy the sunshine, I'm not so keen on the humidity. Mind, the thunderstorms around here have been spectacular!! Anyway, moving onto more crafty things. I spent yesterday afternoon making a number of birthday cards. I have focused on My Favorite Things Spotlight Sentiments stamps. I've only used the birthday sentiment for my cards; I need lots for my stash! I've used several different inks to stamps the sentiment on plain white cards:

I think the birthday sentiment is so versatile. I can use the cards simply as they are above - very clean and simple allowing the stamped image to shine. However, it is also possible to dress the cards up. And on this next card I've used some design paper along with some stamps from Lawn Fawn's Smooth Sailing stamp set.

Here I stamped the sentiment in multiple shades of blue and green ink. I then used some paper from my stash which suggests sky and sea. I edged the paper with thin strips of green card. I finished by adding the little sailboat which I stamped on white card and coloured with copic markers. I fussy cut it out and adhered it flat to the card. I added a few birds flying off in the distance.

On the inside of the card, I cut a mat layer of green card and on the white panel added another little sailboat, some stars and a simple greeting from My Favorite Things Whimsical Greetings.

My last card is ultra clean and simple. I stamped the sentiment image in black ink. I used some glitter pens to colour the open letters to really 'spotlight' the birthday sentiment!

That's all from me today. I'll see you again next week. Bye for now.
